The Bester 1000 grit sharpening stone will become the foundation of your sharpening kit. Considered medium grit, this stone is a good starting point for knives and tools that need sharpening but are not overly dull or damaged. (Check out the Beston 500 for resetting bevels and repairing damaged blades)
Follow this with a Rika 5000 and you’ll have a fine edge indeed.
This is a great sharpening stone for beginners and experienced sharpeners. It offers great feedback, wears slowly and cuts reasonably fast.
Makes an excellent first water stone if you think you may add other stones to your kit down the line. If you want to go a simpler and less expensive route, check out the Imanishi 1000/4000 combination sharpening stone.
